“I am very impressed with Elysium’s technology today and your future plans,” states a captivated participant after two days of on-point presentations, live demos and an interactive panel discussion. In a nutshell, Elysium’s European Summit 2019 held Jan. 23-24 in Lyon, France has been a great success with more than 60 attendees. Key-players and industry leaders from all over Europe came together, flanked by colleagues and partners from the U.S. and Asia, forming one open community.
Elysium Community as a key to success
Open, challenging and trustworthy describe the atmosphere in the conference center of Hotel ParkSaône in Lyon. Elysium hosts its European Summit for the first time in France, bringing together partners, customers, and vendors from CAD to PLM, CAE to manufacturing, and 3D laser scanning to BIM. As many know, Elysium has been proven as the top seed for 3D interoperability solutions on a global scale. But in the rise of digital transformation, the audience is inquisitive about how to safeguard company assets in the future.
The short answer is, we all rely on a broad network of valuable partners to tackle future engineering and business challenges. This requires proactive members and transparent communication within the entire Elysium Community. Elysium will continue to develop and provide topnotch software solutions for seamless interoperability that enable companies to shape their individual future.
Seamless interoperability for digital 3D data
MBD/MBE is a main driver for 3D interoperability as it provides major capabilities and embraces real-world customer use cases such as PDQ checking, translation and validation. It’s no coincidence that Elysium’s own Annalise Suzuki, director of technology and engagement in the U.S., characterizes the expression MBE begins with interoperability in her well-received presentation. Whether it’s production processes in aerospace, engineering changes in automotive OEM-supplier collaboration or securing PDQ for archiving, Elysium focuses on true automation and integration into customer system landscapes to enable seamless interoperability.
Commitment to quality and excellent ability to accommodate incremental changes are important differentiators in handling 3D data. Automated validation of 3D geometry, product structures, attributes and semantic PMI combined with intuitive reporting lowers the risk of missing significant changes and frees engineers to add real value to their organization. “The use of 3D PDF reports allows the aggregation of 3D validation reports with drawing information, metadata and attachments to data packages. Data packages leverage validation reports as they provide efficient storage and distribution of relevant information even to casual users out of one single source of truth for product definition, communication of engineering changes and manufacturing processes,” explains Dr.-Ing. Alexander Christ, strategy and business development at Elysium for Central Europe, during his presentation.
3D PDFs are becoming a common shareable format for many manufacturing companies. It is lightweight, easy-to-use on any device, and confidential data can be protected. With Elysium’s newest release, the Data Package Studio, you can have all of those benefits plus the ability to tailor the reports to your desired criteria. The Data Package Studio is a 3D PDF authoring tool that provides maximum design flexibility as well as efficient customization and reuse through templates. It contributes to 3D master projects and enables communication across company borders for smart collaboration.
Smart Collaboration drives revenue and strengthens partnerships
Collaboration is not only about exchanging data between different departments or companies and how to secure the data exchange itself. By providing access to expertise and sharing insights with other domains, companies develop a deeper understanding of their own business. A global perspective, true passion for innovation and consistency in trustful partner networks enable smart collaboration.
CAD synergy and collaboration drive F1 speed and quality by offering a competitive advantage has been the take-away from Ian Goddard’s presentation from Renault F1 team. But also in automotive use cases with a lower pace, Elysium tools help companies optimize their OEM/supplier processes. Using standardized and globally accepted formats like JT and STEP AP242 in supplier collaboration leads companies toward successful routes.
What to expect from Elysium in the future
Scalability and significant performance improvements will help customers to migrate their 3D models and associated 2D drawings from one CAD system to another. “The release of CADfeature V15.0 EX8.0 is a true game changer for our partners and customers. Among other enhancements, it will allow a drastic reduction of the duration of migration projects by distributing the load on multiple translation servers,” says Patrick Sergent, chief technology and delivery at Elysium Europe. Combined with the popular QA reporting, everything is set for a bright future.
And there is more to expect from Elysium in the next years. More advanced technologies, more platform-centric solutions, more digitalization, more information in 3D for casual users and of course more interoperability. Kentaro Fukuta, general manager of global business at Elysium Japan, highlights three pillars of Elysium’s future solutions: Usability, Mobility and Modularity. With access to sophisticated web technologies, users will have a one-of-a-kind experience independent of any user interface.
Thank you from the whole Elysium Team
The whole Elysium team would like to say thank you to all participants of our European Summit 2019 in Lyon and also to those that were unable to make it this time. It is your commitment and your dedication day by day that make our business successful. We truly appreciate your engagement and we are looking forward to overcoming hurdles together as one Elysium Community. See you at our next Summit.
