Elysium Appoints Paul Yoshitomi and Atsuto Soma to the Board of Directors

HAMAMATSU, Japan — Sept. 1, 2022 — Elysium, the global interoperability solutions provider, has appointed Paul Yoshitomi as President and COO, Atsuto Soma as Vice President and CTO, effective Sep 1, 2022. Paul and Atsuto will lead the development of new solutions and businesses to meet both the local and global market demands.

Paul has driven innovation in GIS and Geospatial information throughout his career. After graduating from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Harvard University, he joined Esri, the global market leader in GIS software, and was engaged in software development and market research. As a researcher at the Disaster Prevention Research Institute of Kyoto University, he contributed to the utilization of GIS in multi-hazard analysis and disaster prevention planning. Thereafter, he managed international projects and business development at Esri.
Joining Elysium in 2016, he has led new business development and alliances with Elysium’s point cloud data processing technologies. Since 2017, he has also been a board member of InfraDoctor Software Service Operation Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) to promote the development and sales of road and structure maintenance management systems.

Atsuto has led the innovation of 3D geometry/topology handling technology and software development throughout his career. He was appointed CTO in 2008 to manage the entire R&D in the Elysium group. He is also the chairman of the Domestic Task Force Committee for ISO/TC 184/SC 4, and a member of the Domestic Committee for ISO/TC 171/SC 2. He has extensive experience in the global standardization community in Japan, Europe, and the U.S.
Atsuto says, “Focusing on 3D data as our main objective, we’ve been developing various solutions, enabling seamless interoperability among CAD related software and between digital data and the real world. And now, data interoperability is one of the most critical issues in various industries throughout the world.
