ELYSIUM to release NXdoctor

Validation and repair plug-in is for all NX users as well as Nissan and its Suppliers

HAMAMATSU, Japan, April 6, 2010--Elysium Co., Ltd., a leading global provider of design data exchange software, today announced the upcoming (April 9) release of NXdoctor, a sophisticated Product Data Quality (PDQ) validation/repair tool specially created for Nissan and its suppliers.

NXdoctor, a Siemens NX plug-in, validates and repairs 3D CAD data in conformity with Nissan Motor Company's PDQ guidelines to assure perfect data usage in any subsequent 3D use scenario. Users can operate PDQ validation and repair by NXdoctor on NX.

At Nissan, where the global CAD standard is Siemens NX, the company's PDQ criteria dictate a unique 3D data control checklist for itself and for suppliers. NXdoctor enables both the automaker and those who work with them to validate and secure the quality of all sent and received CAD data pertaining to product design and development. Once installed, NXdoctor will allow users to check 3D data directly from within Siemens NX in accordance to Nissan's strict specifications. Data which meets these requirements will be validated by an encrypted authentication key. All data entering or departing Nissan must be authenticated by NXdoctor.

Elysium will also provide configuration files for NXdoctor according to the specific needs of manufacturers other than Nissan family.

[Major features to be included in NXdoctor]
1. PDQ Validation
Once NXdoctor is installed properly, NX users can operate PDQ validation using 'Check-Mate.' The PDQ validation of some 27 critical check items (including 20 most important items that comply with SASIG, VDA and JAMA/JAPIA) provides the same high level of accuracy as Elysium's CADdoctor. (*1)

2. Healing
There are two options to heal the detected errors. One is using the 'Full B-Rep Repair' (automatic healing of the whole model), and the other is 'Repair with History' (PMI and attribute information is stored and only sections with PDQ errors are repaired). (*2)

3. Input and output ENF file
Input and output Elysium Neutral File (ENF) that allows NXdoctor repair results to be used freely on CADdoctor or ASFALIS.
